About E2C
The American Society for Healthcare Engineers (ASHE) Region 10 in conjunction with the Northwest Energy Efficiency Alliance's BetterBricks initiative launched the ASHE Region 10 Energy Efficiency Commitment (E2C), a precedent-setting campaign to save energy, reduce costs and protect the environment.
The collective efforts of the ASHE Region 10 E2C participants represent more than 29 million square feet of healthcare facility space in the Northwest Region 10 states of Alaska, Idaho, Montana, Oregon, Washington and Wyoming.
Participating facility teams benchmark their buildings through ENERGY STAR Portfolio Manager and target facilities for low cost/no cost energy efficiency improvements to collectively reduce energy consumption by 10 percent as a region. This effort is supported by the Northwest Energy Efficiency Alliance's BetterBricks initiative, local utilities and the EPA's ENERGY STAR program.
How to Participate
Eligibility: All hospitals and medical office buildings are eligible to participate in E2C. Some buildings may be ratable in ENERGY STAR Portfolio Manager, however they can still be benchmarked to qualify for the 10% improvement E2C goal.
Register: To join the ASHE Region 10 E2C, register each facility you would like to participate. See Register for more information.
Benchmark & "Share": Benchmark your facility with ENERGY STAR Portfolio Manager. If you've never benchmarked your facility before, there are a number of ways to get started. See Resources & Support for E2C technical assistance and webinars.
Dowload How to Submit your Energy Performance Rating Flyer.
You will then need to "share" your ENERGY STAR data with the campaign master account within Portfolio Manager called "Northwest Energy Efficiency Alliance Region 10 E2C." This will enable us to review your data, check for missing info, and track your savings progress. Rest assured, this data will remain private among the campaign staff - no specific building information will be released. Instructions for sharing your data can be found here: Benchmark.
Reduce and Re-Benchmark: Work on reducing your hospital's energy use using the E2C campaign and partner resources and trainings. You can re-benchmark as often as you want to track your improvement. For more details, see Benchmark and Resources & Support.
